Congratulations on expecting your baby!
Welcoming a new baby into this world is a time of great joy for the whole family. And they grow so fast! Before you know it, they will no longer be tiny babies, so let me capture those first, precious moments of your baby's life for you to cherish for a lifetime.
Newborns are best photographed before they are 2 weeks old, when they are still sleepy and curly, so be sure to book your session well in advance ( ideally after your 20 week scan). At the time of the booking, we will chose a provisional date to secure my time and the actual date will be confirm after your baby is born. All newborn sessions take place in my cosy home studio in Leeds. Full newborn sessions lasts between 2 to 4 hours.
You can see my newborn portfolio here.
A non-refundable deposit of £99 is required upon booking to secure your space. This will be then deducted from the total price of your chosen package.

Newborn photography FAQ
Everything you need to know before booking your newborn portrait session
When is the best time to have a newborn photoshoot?
Newborns are best photographed before they are 2 weeks old, when they are still very sleepy and curly, which results in those, beautiful dreamy images. It’s definitely much easier to achieve most newborn poses when baby is in a deep sleep and still able to get in that curly position they were used to in mummy’s tummy.
How far in advance should I book my newborn session?
It’s always best to book newborn photographer well in advance, when you are still pregnant. I would recommend booking after your 20 week scan.
What happens with my booking if the baby arrives early or late?
Upon booking we schedule a provisional date (usually for a week after your due date) to reserve my time, and the actual date is confirmed after the baby has arrived. I only schedule a limited number of newborn sessions each month, to have enough flexibility to move sessions around as necessary.
My baby is already 3 weeks old, am I too late to book a newborn session?
No, as long as I have last minute availability, it’s not too late! Although it is best to have your newborn session done before your baby is 2 weeks old, it can be done for up to 6 weeks old babies. However, you should keep in mind that “older” newborns usually sleep less and are less curly, so certain poses might no longer be achievable. On the other side, we might be able to get some cute awake shots!
How long will my newborn session last?
Full newborn sessions can be quite long, up to 4h but that will of course depend on how is the baby doing on the day. If the baby is sleepy and settled, we should be done in 2h, but it might take much longer than that if the baby is not so sleepy or needs frequent feeding breaks.
Full newborn sessions usually include 2-3 prop set-ups and 2-3 beanbag poses.
I also offer mini sessions, which usually last around 1h and include 3 set-ups.
Where will my newborn session take place?
All newborn sessions take place in my cosy home studio in north Leeds, LS17 7SR.
Are family and sibling portraits included in the price?
Full newborn sessions include family and/or sibling portraits, however they are not included in mini sessions, due to the time limits. Family portraits are optional, and while I understand you might not feel like being in front of the camera days after the birth, I encourage you to do so and capture that special bond between a baby and their parents, you won’t regret it.
What do I need to bring to my newborn session? Do you provide props and outfits?
I have an ever growing collection of beautiful, high quality outfits, blankets, wraps, bonnets, headbands and posing props, so you don’t need to bring anything, apart from baby essentials like spare nappies wet wipes and a pacifier (if you are using one). Of course if you have anything special or of sentimental value that you would like included in your shoot, please feel free to bring it along.
Do I get to choose a colour scheme for my newborn photoshoot?
Yes, I always ask my clients to let me know what colours they like and what colours are a no no, however if you can’t decide, I’m more than happy to suggest few options. It might be helpful to go through my portfolio for some inspiration as well.
When will I receive my images?
After the session, your images will be professionally edited in my signature style and will be ready for viewing within 3 weeks time. They will be presented to you via private online gallery, or we can arrange an in person viewing and ordering appointment instead.
Do you offer wall art and albums?
Yes! I strongly believe in the value of printing and displaying your photographs. Professional newborn photography is an investment, why spend all that money only to let your images sit on a USB, hidden deep somewhere in your drawer, when you can turn them into stunning wall art or heirloom albums, and enjoy right in front of your eyes for years to come?
